A closer look at the work
An elongated heap of angular stones lies beneath a dark red sky. Cool light catches individual surfaces, revealing varied sizes and positions. Foreground and sides remain largely black. Its uneven contour meets softer cloud above.
Building material becomes a landscape form. Individual stones remain tangible while together forming one mass. The title points beyond finished paving towards another state of the material, without requiring a specific account of a building site.
