Authentic Nature
Birkenwald 7, Finnland
A closer look at the work
Slender white birches rise from green ground dotted with small violet flowers. Sun breaks behind a trunk left of centre. Trees narrow towards the right and into depth, dark bark marks varying the rhythm. Grass supplies a continuous layered base.
The light point makes viewpoint tangible: a slight move would change its relation to the trunk. Apparent forest order depends on one gaze. Flowers and grasses add scale to high lines. An open structure meets details emerging through attention, without turning the forest into a promise of prescribed feelings.
