Authentic Nature
Blue forest, Deutschland
2010
A closer look at the work
Blue trunks stand closely together across an elongated frame. The background remains dark, with occasional reddish areas. Shrubs and low foliage create a restless second layer along the ground. Light catches some bark more strongly, separating nearby trees from finer lines farther back.
Blue Forest transforms woodland order through a shared colour. Trees retain differences yet appear as one connected phenomenon. The panorama encourages lateral reading of trunk sequences while dark gaps draw attention backwards. The forest becomes neither wholly flat nor fully surveyable; depth must be explored anew in every interval between the illuminated forms.
