A closer look at the work
A small tree stands in a shallow dark pot before a brown wall. Its twisted trunk carries bare angular wood above and left, with a compact green crown right. Lit wood and dense foliage differ sharply in texture. Pot and ground provide calm horizontals beneath spreading form.
The vessel makes the tree both living growth and an individually contemplated object. Small scale holds considerable spatial tension. Bare wood and foliage coexist without being reduced to one sequence. Duration becomes a difference of surfaces still joined within a single body.
