Water
Burned Forest 2
2018
A closer look at the work
Dark forest floor extends among thin, closely layered trunks. A few pale branches or plant remnants make brief marks on its surface. The low panorama crops trees far below their crowns and directs attention into ground-level depth. Dense order continues to both edges without a clear exit.
Small tonal differences demand slow discrimination. Trunks and irregular ground forms gradually emerge from darkness. Detail resists quick overview. Fire, named by the title, provides a context rather than a complete story. Attention stays with the present visible condition and the spatial presence retained within this narrow fragment.
