Cityscape tokyo 1, Japan
2016
A closer look at the work
A strong blue wall dominates the narrow vertical format. Small windows interrupt it, while a red strip of lettering occupies the right edge. A train with yellow accents runs across the lower section. Facades, signs and transport routes overlap tightly, almost excluding street and sky.
The city appears as an arrangement of surfaces and signs. Blue provides a visual pause between crowded edges, while the horizontal train counters the vertical lettering. The crop suggests how urban orientation emerges between movement, advertising and built structures.
