Urban · Visions of Time
Coming down, Usa
2010
A closer look at the work
A single person sits on a rooftop among large illuminated buildings. A foreground puddle reflects the Chrysler Building’s bright summit. A low parapet separates the nearby space from the street canyon beyond. Rectangular windows and dark ground establish a strict setting for the small resting body.
Coming Down joins two directions of looking: outward into the city and downward into its reflection. The seated figure lies between them without excluding the urban surroundings. Quiet becomes a bounded place within a larger structure. Retreat is presented not as distance from the city but as a possibility within its architectural density.
