Time Flies

A closer look at the work
White poles and crossbars enclose a narrow space filled with people. The elongated frame stretches this gathering sideways, while water and a dark bank remain comparatively still behind it. Bodies, clothing and seats overlap in soft patches of colour. The angular structure stays legible, directing the eye from the foreground towards the crowded centre.
The picture makes travelling together perceptible as proximity. These people share a confined space, but their routes and relationships remain unknown. Blurred contours draw the group together, while the open sides admit a wider setting. Between bodily closeness and landscape breadth, a passage takes shape whose duration can be felt without a destination having to appear.
