Authentic Nature
Electric Wood, Portugal
2010
A closer look at the work
Slender trees stand on uneven, partly stony ground. Warm light touches trunks and lower branches against deep blue sky. Darker space opens on the left; growth and shadows gather on the right. Cropped crowns imply a larger setting.
The title's electric association connects to conspicuous illumination without identifying its source. Light sharply separates near and distant zones. Familiar woodland takes on a staged appearance, showing how spatial understanding depends on which surfaces remain visible.
