Reflections of India
Fisher House, Indien
2013
A closer look at the work
A low house sits among tall palms beneath deep blue sky. Roofs form a long stepped band, with trunks and fronds extending in different directions. Open ground separates the viewer from the building. Light selects portions of wall and vegetation.
The panorama situates the house within a wider plant-filled setting. The title names a use without showing an activity. The visible relationship is between dwelling and surroundings: a built body participates in a larger, irregularly grown order.
