A closer look at the work
Tracks curve between ballast and slender trees into an illuminated city. Yellow-green trees rise before a bridge, with bright building surfaces layered behind it. Street lamps mark the dark sky with star-shaped points. Sleepers and stones remain clear in the foreground, while the distance dissolves into a warm glow.
Night turns this transport landscape into a succession of lit islands. Rails determine routes, while lamps distribute visibility. Trees occupy the interval as living forms that are also rhythmically arranged. The eye follows the curve without needing a train to animate it. Possible movement runs through the built city even in its apparent stillness.
