Urban · Visions of Time
Fullmoon in manhattan, Usa
2010
A closer look at the work
A luminous street recedes into the night between tall rows of buildings. Windows form small rectangular fields in dark façades. The Chrysler Building rises as a bright distant point, with a short trail of light in the sky to its right. The elevated viewpoint brings buildings close while placing the street far below.
Fullmoon in Manhattan connects several scales of light: individual windows, the long street and the small celestial appearance. Built order becomes visible without fully enclosing space. A narrow sky remains above vertical boundaries. Human illumination shapes the setting while remaining only one of its visible sources of brightness.
