A closer look at the work
Orange crossbeams follow closely, creating an almost enclosed passage. Dark bases trace two curved lines along the path. The ground disappears to the left before the route’s end can be seen. Overlapping rectangles make the space both deep and flat, while small variations prevent perfect uniformity.
This Fushimi Inari-Taisha view concentrates on the experience of a constructed route. Each gate marks a threshold, yet their sequence creates a continuous interior without a solid wall. Strong colour reinforces that connection. Looking follows the curve but cannot obtain a complete overview. Further movement remains imaginable while the destination stays beyond the photograph.
