The Infrared Journey
In harmony with nature, Deutschland
2021
A closer look at the work
Dark water reflects trunks, fine branches and pink vegetation. Dense grass clumps stand on both banks above their mirrored continuations. A brighter woodland space opens behind them. The nearly square frame balances the banks with the central opening.
Reflection makes the boundary between upper and lower zones permeable without erasing it. Slight irregularities prevent perfect duplication. The title's harmony can be understood as a balance of different densities, brightnesses and directions rather than complete equality between forms.
