A closer look at the work
A narrow brightly signed street recedes between tall façades. People move across it, nearby faces and clothes becoming soft overlaps. Vertical signs retain a fixed rhythm above. Proximity thickens below, leaving few bodies fully visible.
The viewpoint lies within passage rather than outside it. People alter access to the city by concealing, opening and overlapping its signs. Sharp façades orient while immediate surroundings remain mobile. Overview and bodily closeness cannot both be complete; the photograph preserves this limited participation.
