A closer look at the work
A yellow-green wall drawing outlined in black fills the left side of a rough interior. A tall window on the right opens onto clouds. Flaking surfaces, exposed lines and further marks surround these two image fields. The painted motif is dense and bounded; the sky remains soft and indeterminate. An oblique angle draws the walls together.
The photograph places an applied pictorial world beside an actual outlook. Both gain clarity through the worn surroundings. What is fixed on the wall faces a changing sky without producing a simple division of inside and outside. Drawing occupies the room, window reopens it, while traces of use remain unexplained.
