Laser Forest 2
2011
A closer look at the work
Leaves shine yellow-green, red and violet between dark trunks. A brighter zone draws attention into the forest's centre while the edges remain nearly black. The narrow panorama spreads colours laterally. Familiar trunks, branches and foliage stay recognisable but separate into colour groups under uneven illumination.
The forest is neither unified space nor pure abstraction. Light imposes a temporary order across organic structures. Some branches emerge while adjacent ones disappear. The eye must reconstruct depth through these changing visibilities. Perception becomes the subject: what appears as continuous nature depends conspicuously on which parts receive light.
