Reflections of India
Looking Up In The Bamboo Forest 1, Indien
2016
A closer look at the work
The view rises steeply between tall bamboo stems. Near culms appear broad and substantial; distant ones narrow towards a bright canopy. Green, white and pale yellow dominate, interrupted by leaves crossing the upward pattern.
Perspective turns woodland into height and convergence. Differences in scale make the unseen viewpoint tangible. Physical proximity becomes an almost abstract movement towards light, ending among translucent leaves rather than at a fixed surface.
