A closer look at the work
A tall window sits in a wall covered with black curving drawings. Dark clouds occupy its rectangular opening. Rough, uneven surfaces and the receding floor frame the outlook again. Cropped markings on either side seem to continue beyond the photograph, while the window provides a comparatively stable centre.
Inside and outside meet as different forms of restlessness. Lines and figures remain fixed on the wall; shapes gather in the sky with an uncertain continuation. The eye alternates between reading signs and studying atmosphere. Worn material makes the threshold palpable. The window admits distance while remaining part of a surface carrying other traces of looking and making.
