A closer look at the work
A tall hall is divided by regular ceiling panels, red beams and side galleries. Below, a large crowd moves towards several entrances. Bodies condense into soft brown-red traces while architecture remains sharp. Central perspective leads deep into the room, making people appear as one moving surface.
Opening depicts Berlin’s Tempelhof Airport, identified in the work archive with admission to the Bread & Butter fair. Fixed infrastructure meets a temporary gathering without dividing the crowd into individual stories. Entrances and guiding lines organise movement. The photograph makes the relationship between personal route and collective form visible within a shared building.
