A closer look at the work
Broad roadway beams stack above one another on massive piers. Fences and gates establish another foreground boundary. Violet-pink light colours the nearby wall and parts of the structure against a muted sky. Layered construction denies the eye a free direction: openings lead to further built surfaces.
Infrastructure becomes a space below and between its actual routes. Roadways imply movement without displaying it. Fencing, supports and vacant areas govern the lower view. Attention shifts towards the intermediate spaces produced by large transport structures. Their geometry provides orientation while also making restricted access palpable.
