A closer look at the work
An upright nude is seen from behind, arms raised beyond the narrower outline of the torso. Coloured rectangles divide back, hips and legs, continuing uninterrupted into the pale background. Warm tones dominate the left; blue and green meet the silhouette on the right. The vertical frame follows the extended posture.
Because the grid keeps the same order across figure and background, body and image surface become difficult to separate. Curves remain sculptural yet traversed by another geometry. The turned-away face shifts attention to posture and contour. Presence both asserts itself and disperses within a broader arrangement of planes.
