A closer look at the work
A rear view is divided into sections by dark horizontal colour fields. Warmer tones cover the upper body, blue shapes the hips and dark green the legs. Narrow red and pale strips stand beside the figure. Light clarifies certain curves while others disappear into surrounding darkness.
Upright posture supplies an axis repeatedly interrupted by crossbands. Rather than seamless unity, related fragments emerge. Direction and proportion allow the eye to connect them. The blue centre particularly asserts depth against flat division. Continuous bodily presence meets visibility available only in sections.
