A closer look at the work
The forward-bent figure sits near the lower centre. A broad blue area encompasses the rounded back; a yellow-white rectangle forms a second, angular shoulder above. An arm appears on the left while head and legs remain mostly dark. Uneven light interlocks figure and ground rather than separating them cleanly.
The eye follows transitions more than a complete silhouette. The bright upper plane attracts, the blue back holds attention, dark edges release it. Posture stays intelligible despite missing details. Recognition meets uncertainty: a specific presence appears without access to expression, surroundings or the circumstances of the pose.
