A closer look at the work
A deeply rounded back occupies most of the horizontal frame. Blue-green light models shoulders, arms and the folded posture; a sharply bounded pale plane touches the upper right. The head remains hidden. Deep darkness gathers below and left, with faint reddish areas intensifying bodily proximity.
The broad back becomes almost landscape-like without losing human form. A straight light edge meets soft curvature, shifting between plane and volume. No face answers the gaze. Looking depends on the visible terms of its own approach: posture, shadow and surface. Such proximity remains open rather than closed by psychological explanation.
