A closer look at the work
An exceptionally narrow frame contains a seated nude in side view. A bent leg projects left while the torso rises right. Rectangular light fields distribute red, green, blue and pink across separated areas. Dark intervals turn knee, foot and torso into stations along an interrupted bodily line.
The narrow image requires these stations to be connected successively. Posture emerges through their sequence. Colour marks emergence and recession without explaining anatomy evenly. The leg breaks sideways from the upright arrangement, making the frame's constraint palpable. Possible movement exists within a restricted field that both distributes and limits visibility.
