Reflections of India
Pilgrim on Purple Dust 10, Indien
2014
A closer look at the work
People cross pale pink ground. Near the upper centre, a figure wears a red top, jeans and a dark head covering. Bags and patterned fabric add accents. The downward view separates walking bodies from the even surface, with cropped figures continuing beyond the edge.
Clothing, steps and intervals preserve differences within shared movement. Pink ground connects the figures without turning them into one portrait. Each remains particular within a larger flow whose beginning and destination lie outside the frame.
