The Infrared Journey
Potsdam forest, Deutschland
A closer look at the work
Trees crowd the space with red and pink structures. Some trunks lean while others stand upright; dark shadows run diagonally over the ground. The tangle continues into increasingly small forms. Strong colour binds foliage, bark and ground together.
Depth must be discovered within this chromatic density. The eye moves between individual trunks and an almost woven pattern. A walkable place also becomes an arrangement of lines whose order cannot be grasped from one direction alone.
