Rainforest 5, Neuseeland

A closer look at the work
Mossy trunks and tangled branches fill an irregularly layered forest. A substantial trunk on the right carries green bands over dark bark, while smaller trees open a brighter glimpse to the left. Leaves, low plants and hanging growth gather on the ground.
The scene offers a network rather than a single dominant subject. Surfaces carry further growth and light finds narrow routes. Unlike an open panorama, the forest cannot be grasped all at once; it unfolds through successive small observations.
