Authentic Nature
Scottish Highlands 1, Scotland

A closer look at the work
A snowy mountain rises right of centre above a dark open plain. Farther peaks catch golden light to the left beneath yellow pink clouds. Small snow patches interrupt the brown green foreground. A clear triangular form meets softer distant shapes.
A substantial main form balances a changeable light field. Brightness and overlapping heights establish depth. The eye alternates between rough mountain surface and the luminous opening beside it, relating mass, distance and transient illumination.
