Authentic Nature
Scottish Highlands 2, Scotland
2018
A closer look at the work
Dark foreground water lies among snow remnants and grass. A solitary boulder stands beyond, followed by snowy mountains beneath grey blue sky. Reflection adds another direction of depth. Cool colours dominate.
A close, manageable beginning opens towards distant mountains. Water, snow edge and stone establish scale before the gaze travels outward. Reflection draws it back, alternating expansive distance with attention to a nearby surface.
