Water
Thousands of suns, Deutschland
2022
A closer look at the work
Thin stems rise in large numbers from water. Between them, bright reflections break into small points, growing denser below. Without a broad horizon, the image stays close to this mesh of vertical lines and fragments of light. Blue, grey and white remain restrained.
The title multiplies the sun, while the photograph shows scattered reflections. One source of light becomes many visual centres. Stems anchor the image between natural detail and abstraction, but the sparkling points resist fixed order and keep the gaze moving.
