A closer look at the work
Pale trunks stand before a distant band of red, blue and violet light. Dark green growth fills the lower image. Uneven illumination brings some trees forward and lets others recede, dividing the coloured distance into sections.
The forest filters another field of brightness. Each trunk conceals and each interval reveals. The title's reference to sound may suggest rhythm, while the image itself develops through visible spacing, overlap and opposing directions of colour.
