Romance of Elements
Treptower park, Deutschland
2004
A closer look at the work
A tree with long drooping branches stands in snow. Very bright warm light bursts behind its trunk. Numerous fine spark trails arc overhead and fall to either side. A dark path or edge leads from the foreground towards the trunk, connecting quiet snow with dense movement of light.
The Treptower Park photograph records a bodily light action in winter; the existing text identifies Wagner himself as participating. The body disappears behind brightness while action remains as a trace. Cold ground and warm glow coexist. A temporary intervention becomes a spatial figure overlapping the tree’s existing form.
