Reflections of India
Vrindavan flow, Indien
2014
A closer look at the work
A narrow lane recedes between pale house walls. Violet and pink traces of movement fill its floor, while cables and a wooden pole cross the view diagonally. Individual figures remain only faintly visible. Fixed architecture contains the coloured flow and directs it towards the top of the frame.
Vrindavan Flow presents an inhabited route as an overlap of infrastructure and movement. Walls remain still while people partly lose their closed outlines. Time appears not simply as a passing instant but as a trace distributed through space. The narrow crop makes the lane a shared passage whose visible form arises from the many journeys of those moving through it.
