Urban · Visions of Time
World in my pocket, Usa
2010
A closer look at the work
A single person sits on a low wall above city rooftops. Satellite dishes stand nearby; pipes and cables cross the rough foreground. A bright skyline spreads behind the body beneath a broad pale-blue sky. The roof looks used and irregular, while distance becomes a connected urban view.
World in My Pocket relates a resting body to technical infrastructure and urban extent. The seat is neither enclosed interior nor free landscape viewpoint. It lies between practical function and open outlook. Distance becomes possible within the city: one person pauses apart from its movements without leaving its spatial presence.
