X-ray 3, Japan

A closer look at the work
Human silhouettes overlap in an intensely blue space. A warm elongated form near the centre stands apart from cooler body contours. Horizontal lines cross figures whose outlines sometimes appear multiple. Legs and heads remain recognisable, but clear boundaries between people are difficult to establish.
X-ray 3 uses transparency as a visual experience rather than an anatomical finding. People appear present yet permeated by their surroundings. The photograph can be read as a study of shared space: each figure remains an individual body while becoming part of a common network. Colour connects them, and changing density briefly brings further figures out of the overlap.
