Silence and movement, ritual and noise, light and shadow.
In his current exhibition in BVI Berlin Showing the photographer André Wagner impressive works created during his trip to Japan. “Echo of silence, noise of the city: Japanese impressions” This creates a visual dialogue between meditative landscapes and the pulsating energy of urban spaces.
The photographs combine long-term exposure with intuitive gaze, Japanese aesthetics with contemporary visual language. Between Kyoto, Tokyo and the Japanese coast, Wagner explores the tension between spirituality and modernity – and invites people to recognize the invisible in the visible.
