The Infrared Journey
The Poetry of the Everyday
A closer look at the work
A three-wheeled cargo cycle stands diagonally on a dusty path. Its dark struts, spokes and rectangular platform separate clearly from the bright surroundings. A sharp shadow extends the construction across the ground. Behind it, pink foliage thickens into a broad band beneath an almost empty deep-blue sky.
The stationary cycle suggests work and transport without showing a particular task or its owner. Its pause makes its form available to view: circles, diagonals and a supporting platform create a construction shaped by use. The title directs attention towards this everyday object. Its poetry emerges from the relationship between traces of use, visible order and the unusual colouring of its surroundings.
