The Infrared Journey — Somewhere in Between
ZUGERSEE #3
A closer look at the work
A dense canopy descends into the narrow vertical frame. Its warm brown tones contrast with Lake Zug’s cool blue. Between leaves and water, a bright strip of clouds, distant shoreline and small boats remains visible. Foreground ripples are much larger than the shapes on the horizon, making spatial distance tangible.
The photograph places a clear boundary around the view: we look from shaded proximity into open distance. The foliage is more than a frame, demanding almost as much attention as the lake. Landscape emerges through this alternation of obstruction and opening. The viewpoint remains attached to a particular shore even as the water suggests expansiveness.
