The Infrared Journey — Somewhere in Between
On the Road: Into the Wilderness
A closer look at the work
A narrow track disappears straight between closely spaced conifers. Its paired wheel marks and dark intervals lead towards a small distant point. Pink and pale-violet branches fill both sides beneath a clear turquoise sky. In the foreground, the dark dashboard and a blurred nearby form obstruct part of the view.
The visible vehicle interior keeps the landscape at a distance while perspective draws the eye into it. A tension develops between a sheltered viewpoint and an increasingly narrow space. The title speaks of wilderness, yet the photograph also shows an existing route. Nature appears neither boundless nor fully accessible: entry remains tied to this narrow, predetermined trace.
