The Infrared Journey
The Mirror Of Nature

A closer look at the work
A dark trunk on the left and dense foliage above frame the water. Strong magenta vegetation meets deep turquoise; pink continues as a narrow band along the opposite bank. Small ripples break up the reflection, preventing the water from providing a smooth duplicate of its surroundings.
This view from Pfaueninsel towards the Havel connects distance and proximity through colour. Branches near the camera act almost like a curtain, while the open water creates depth. The title suggests a mirror, but the photograph also reveals its instability. Each slight movement transforms contours into traces of colour, making the landscape a provisional image of itself.
