Merge Bubbles

Merge Bubbles is a loop work created by André Wagner on the occasion of the Ethereum merge, a historical time document. Two delicate bubbles float in the moving space and approach each other. They collide, do not burst, they merge, the Ethereum logo appears short, they disappear. Do they disappear? How in trance do we look at what is happening, do not understand and doubt our perception.
We open our eyes and our world revolves around us, or do we revolve in it? But something seems wrong. The colors of the trees, of the forest on whose clearing we are, feel strange. Is it they?
Two soap bubbles, which mirror reality but are in this strange world, questioningly refer specifically to the historical moment we were able to experience in September 2022.
As with the Ethereum merge with the transition Proof of Work to Proof of Stake, the two bubbles come together.
The infrared panoramic image, which André Wagner chose as the background for this NFT, expands the spectrum perceptible to our eyes. The colors are real, but we have never been able to see them that way. The bubble's logo shines as a symbol of the new digital world before the two bubbles merge.
We're going through tremendous social changes in the 20s of the 21st century, and cryptocurrencies are gaining in importance, and Web3 is coming inexorably.

“Merge Bubbles” continues the artistic process that also includes the NFT “Bubble of Reality”, exhibited at Photo Basel in 2021. “Bubble of Reality” is a sold unique work (1/1). André Wagner has no influence over a possible resale.
The two works are clearly to be understood together in their chronological sequence. There is no doubt about it anymore. The virtual world is real and opens up unimagined possibilities. You just have to learn to see it.
“Merge Bubbles” is a contemporary video work that expresses the current fusion in an abstract but emotional way and in a unique form.
