Artwork authentication and certification

André Wagner Authentication and Registry

The official point of contact for the authentication, certification and registration of works by André Wagner. We maintain clear, lasting records of authenticity, edition and provenance.

How the review works

  1. A separate application is made for each work.

  2. We review the documents and compare the artwork with the artwork and edition archive.

  3. If necessary, we request further documents or a physical examination.

  4. You will receive the decision in writing.

  5. Only after a positive decision will the invoice, certificate and registration follow.

Required documents

  • Front and back of the work

  • Signature, title and edition number

  • Dimensions and production details

  • Existing certificates and proofs of purchase

  • Known gallery, auction and ownership history

Binding principles

A certificate confirms the authenticity of a work – not automatically the legal ownership of the submitter. No certificate is issued if provenance is unresolved, information is contradictory or the applicant lacks authorization.

Shipping, insurance and special examinations are agreed separately in advance.

Services

Three clearly separate procedures for different situations.

01 · Initial certification

For artworks that have not yet been assigned a digital certificate. The preliminary review is free of charge.

02 · Examination before sale or auction

Comparison of an already certified artwork with its certificate and registry entry – ideal before listing or an auction sale.

49 EUR

03 · Transfer of ownership

The registered owner is updated after the sale is completed and both parties have confirmed the transfer.
