A view of the sea need not simply repeat what lies outside a room. A photograph can bring in another time, another quality of light and a horizon of its own. For a yacht or private residence, this suggests a restrained approach to selecting art for a space.
Concept study: The following ideas explore possible visual relationships using existing works by André Wagner. They do not document a completed yacht installation or confirm technical suitability for a particular project.
Orange wave: a warm accent
In “Orange wave”, made in 2011, a luminous band meets dark blue fields. As a design proposal, the photograph could introduce a concentrated accent into a quiet salon. Its relationship to warm timber, pale fabrics or a restrained wall colour would need to be considered in the actual room. The work does not necessarily need the largest possible surface: space around it can strengthen its presence.

Two spaces, two ways of seeing
White Bamboo 2: rhythm and light
“White Bamboo 2, Japan”, from 2016, offers a different dialogue. The upright bamboo stems and their contrasting brightness establish a quiet rhythm. In a residence, it could connect daylight, spatial depth and the view outside. This is a curatorial proposal, not a photographed reference installation.

From an image to a spatial plan
Wall dimensions, seating positions, sightlines and lighting help inform an initial selection. A photograph taken directly facing the wall makes it easier to compare formats. Doors, light fittings and possible reflections should also be considered. A digital view provides orientation; colour, surface and spatial presence may differ from the actual work.
A yacht requires its own technical assessment
An aesthetic choice does not resolve the requirements of installation on board. Fixings, weight, movement, climate and light must be assessed for the specific project by the responsible specialists. Material details on a work page are not maritime approval. A presentation chosen for a residence should therefore not be transferred without a separate assessment.
Starting a useful conversation
Describe the space, identify preferred works and share dimensions and photographs. For a yacht project, also identify the interior designer or technical team and their requirements. This provides a basis for considering the artistic selection alongside practical feasibility.
FAQ
Have these works already been installed on yachts?
This page presents a concept using existing photographs. It does not claim a completed yacht installation.
Are the photographs suitable for installation on a yacht?
The individual work, finish, location and mounting need specialist assessment. No technical or maritime suitability is promised here.
Can I request a visualisation for my residence?
Use the wall-concept enquiry to share photographs, dimensions and preferred works. A visualisation supports selection; it is not a photograph of a completed installation.
