André Wagner: My path as a photographer

About me – my way as a photographer

About André Wagner Written by André Wagner

A Journey Back to Essential

I believe in the power of silence, of images that not only show, but also make sense. My art is created where the world becomes slow - and the invisible takes shape.

In my youth, it was graffiti spraying that gave me first ways to express myself artistically, and today I am an international photographer with a clear focus: Art that remains. I work with long-term exposures, infrared techniques, analogue cameras -- and most importantly, time -- because in a world of acceleration, it's actually deceleration that creates depth.

My travels take me to sacred places in India, to the cloud forests of New Zealand, to volcanoes in Iceland, or to the clarity of the Emirates, and these landscapes create works that not only document, but transform.

Many of these works are part of my editions and have been shown in museums, collections and galleries worldwide. I combine classic photography technology with new technologies – for example, through digital certificates of authenticity on the blockchain or limited NFT collections.

What drives me is always the same: The search for the essentialAfter the moment that remains, and after the image that not only hangs on the wall, but continues to work in the heart.

Why photographic art is more to me than decoration

A real work of art is not an accessory. It's a dialogue. It's an invitation to the depth. It's not just asking, "What does it look like?" -- it's asking, "How do you feel about it?"
That's why I create works that change spaces. And people. I offer individual art consulting -- for collectors, architects, and people with a sense of what's special.
