A closer look at the work
Bright red gates follow raised wooded ground on the right. Slender trees lean over leaves and exposed roots on the left. A stone lantern-like form stands nearby, mediating between vivid red and earthy tones. The passage is seen from its side rather than as a sealed tunnel.
Regular architecture opens to its setting. Straight posts meet organic curves, smooth colour meets rough bark and ground. Neither order erases the other. The stone form introduces a third, more individual scale. Looking shifts between route and margin, revealing that a directed passage also has a landscape beside it.
