“Hidden Layers” is a series of nude photographs by André Wagner. It focuses on the human body and asks how photographic representation mediates between proximity and distance.
The body can also be read as form. Presence and abstraction offer different ways of approaching the work: what do we recognise, and what remains open to interpretation?
The series invites you to take time with these questions. “Hidden Layers” also refers to the layers of meaning that can emerge through your own looking.
